About me

Built through image, rhythm, and evolving visual systems.

I am Davit Gogokhia, a creative director, filmmaker, editor, and visual effects artist whose path started in web design and expanded into television, music videos, documentary production, live performance capture, and technology storytelling.

The through-line has always been the same: make visuals that hold atmosphere, rhythm, and clarity in the same frame.

Biography

A career shaped by crossing mediums, not staying inside one lane.

The background started in design and technology, then expanded into television, filmmaking, live performance, and post-production. That mix still defines how I build images now.

Early foundation

I was born in Jvari, Georgia, and spent part of my childhood in Moscow before returning to Georgia with my family. I studied informatics at Georgian Technical University and graduated in 2008.

My professional start was in web design, where I learned to shape visual systems and translate them into functioning digital experiences. That early overlap between aesthetics and structure later became a core part of my filmmaking process.

Television in Georgia

After two years in web design, I moved into television and production. I worked across entertainment and news programming, comedy productions, promotional campaigns, music videos, documentaries, live performances, and cultural events.

That period gave me a hands-on foundation in directing, cinematography, editing, motion graphics, and visual effects, while also teaching me how to develop ideas quickly and collaborate across crews.

Music as a constant

Music has stayed central throughout my career. I work directly with artists on music videos, single releases, visualizers, promotional campaigns, and performance content, adjusting my role from concept development to shooting, editing, and VFX depending on what the project needs.

Experience

The path kept widening, but the visual instinct stayed consistent.

Each chapter added a new production environment and a new level of technical fluency, without losing the original focus on mood, pacing, and communication.

Focus

The work moves between cinematic feeling and clear communication.

I am most interested in projects where storytelling, music, performance, technology, and image-making can strengthen each other instead of living in separate boxes.

Current practice

What I bring into a project now.

Today the work is less about fitting one job title and more about understanding what the piece needs, then building the right visual system around it. Sometimes that means direction and cinematography. Sometimes it means shaping the final result through editing, VFX, motion, or 3D.

  • Concept development and visual treatment building
  • Production planning, directing, and cinematography
  • Editing, compositing, motion graphics, and finishing
  • 3D experiments, generative workflows, and creative tech integration
